Well, I think this month may set a new record for my worst ever at Cafepress since I’ve been an established shopkeeper. I haven’t had a sale in over a week. Plenty of hits though. This time of year is normally slow for my niche, and that combined with the economy and inauguration mania has made my sales nearly non-existent. So, with the knowledge that my March check will probably be less than $100.00, I’ve been working on some other things.
I have a second affiliate store up and running and it shouldn’t be too hard to put up a few more. I already own the domain names, so it’s pretty easy to install CpShop, and then copy over my template code and replace the images. Of course I don’t expect these to bring in much money by March, but hopefully by Christmas they will be more established.
My second project is setting up a vintage clothing store on Etsy. I took an interest in vintage clothing after I found a pile of the most awesome 1960s coats and a thrift store a few years ago. High quality materials and stylish and only $5.00 each! I’ve been reading about and studying vintage clothing off and on for the past year and decided finally to open a shop. I’ve built up some stock and will soon be purchasing a display mannequin on ebay and will be opening my store February 1st. I’m hoping this will help replenish some of my lost cash flow in March. I’ll keep you updated.
