Sales at Cafepress in June totaled $76.25 for 36 items. An average of $2.11 earned per item sold. My previous average per item sold was about $7.50, so I am now earning a lovely 28% of my previous earnings. Bleh.
No sales at Zazzle in June. In fact, the sale I made today was the first since May 17th. Things were a pretty steady trickle before that, but I think with the mass migration to Zazzle and people dumping their designs on every single variation of every product, it’s a lot easier to get completely buried in the marketplace. I don’t think I have much hope until I get my new website established and running (or until Zazzle fixes the problem).
The good news is that I have stopped being lazy! Yes, I am now a motivated internet money-making machine! I’ve made a resolution to quit my job by the end of 2010. I’ve been at this job for a year now, and not only is it so boring that it sucks my brain out, it’s also moving in a direction that I’m not happy with. (more random secretarial crap rather than graphic/web design). Yes, I’m thankful to have a job, but dang it, I want FREEDOM!
Getting my shops back up to their previous level of sales will be a big help. Other streams of income for my future self-employment will include my vinatage shops on Etsy, stock photography, and possibly some art/handmade stuff.
