A little over a month ago, I posted about the problem with Zazzle’s marketplace. I heard some whisperings on the Zazzle forum that the marketplace problem may have been fixed, so I decided to run my little search again.
On June 22, I searched the term “flute” on Zazzle and came up with 9172 results on 306 pages. The same search today brings up 13,698 results on 457 pages. (Wow, that’s almost a 60% increase in one month!)
Last month, after the first page, I was subjected to almost fifteen pages of the same designs from one store. Today, the results are somewhat better. I made it to page 11 before before being subjected to pages on end of “World’s Hottest Flautist” or whatever it was. There are still a few problems though. I came across some borderline pornography that had nothing to do with a flute, and some of the items that were showing up at the top of the search were not quite relevant, such as a photo of champagne flutes, or a caveman style drawing of someone playing something that could be called a flute. While these aren’t exactly blatantly mistagged, they’re not what I’m looking for when I search for flute designs. And they’re probably not what other people are looking either.
So, some improvement from Zazzle in the marketplace. Hopefully they will continue to work on it.
