Set a new record at Zazzle in November with just over $500.00 in sales, and made a decent $330.00 at Cafepress. I also broke a record on Cyber Monday, with 38 items sold at Cafepress (had maybe 7 at Zazzle).

December has been a little strange so far. Sales are up at Cafepress, 190 so far compared to 126 at this time last year. I have not seem much of an increase at Zazzle over November, and things seemed to have dropped off a bit in the last few days. Usually at Cafepress sales are steady until December 17th or 18th, so I’m not sure what the issue is with Zazzle. Could be a fluke, but others on the Zazzle forums have mentioned the same thing.

In other news, there is a new POD in town. If you haven’t heard of it, check out Spoonflower, where you can design and sell your own fabrics. The only downside is that I believe you have to order a swatch and approve your fabric before they will post it for sale. But still, it makes me excited for the future of the POD world.

I’ve been following your blog for quite a while now and I really appreciate the information that you share. In some of your earlier posts you talk about a strategy that I thought would be a good one, where you described doing the POD, posting photos to stock photography sites, etc. Basically throwing out a bunch of lines and then pursuing those that prove profitable. So I finally took the plunge and, starting small, I set up a Squidoo account and started building some lenses and I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes in 2010. Just wanted to wish you the best of luck in making that transition to full-time web entrepreneur and say thanks again for your insights. Also glad to see that the changes you described at Cafepress haven’t totally shut you out of sales. Changing the payout method for the artists really did seem like a crummy thing to do.
