Having been a Cafepress shopkeeper for the past three years, I have decided to take the jump and try to turn my particular niche into a “real” t-shirt business. POD Entrepreneur was started to share my thoughts on the print on demand industry, (Cafepress, Zazzle, Printfection, Spreadshirt and the like) as well as the design and marketing process.

Do you have links to your shops?
I’ve decided not to link to my shops yet. Mainly because I will be reporting my earnings so I think it’s in my best interest for my shops to remain top secret for.
Bummer.
Yeah, that is a bummer. We’d love to see what a successful shop looks like!
But, completely understand. Thanks again for the good, honest information in this blog!
Hey, thanks a million for this blog. I’ve just started POD and it’s encouraging to see that someone has taken the time to write about their experiences. Anywho I was wondering if you had any advice for someone just starting up. I have one t-shirt posted on Zazzle but I’m not sure how to get it noticed. I’ll read through some more of the blog to see if I can find an answer in the meantime.
Cheers
Do you know what type of printers Zazzle uses?
hi. impressive research. i work for a t-shirt screen printer and have really gotten into the methods of printing over the last 6 months. it has been a treat to stumble across your site.
i do wonder though (like michael) if any of the companies outsource their printing?
Hi!
Are you going to be carrying on with your blog? So far it looks good
I have added a link from my blog to yours as we are targeting the same niche - print on demand sites/artists so I hope you get some extra readers through me.

Hi. I am reseaching starting a store. I appreciate you posting your earnings. About how much time do you spend daily working on your store/designs?
Hi, I just wanted to say I love your site, I’ve been reading it for quite sometime now. I’ve even linked to it as one of the “best on the web” for POD on my blog… http://squidoo.com/noveltshirt.
The new design/layout looks really nice.
Love your site - great info to absorb. I’m about to launch a few POD stores and your expertise in this area is really appreciated.
Having been there, done that and got the T-shirt (no pun intended)is great. You have probably saved a lot of newbies from a whole lot of trial and error.
Good luck with all of your stores!

I stumbled over this blog and I am just amazed. I am looking to get into the business of selling shirts via a pod system like zazzle etc. The information you have posted is genuinely helpful and has opened my eyes in every category I have been looking for.
Too bad you won’t disclose your site (which i completely understand), would love to put a face to the name.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve been wondering about this business.
Thanks for all the information. I set up a Zazzle store with approximately 120 products at the end of March 2009 and have yet to see any sales made as they seem to get lost in the thousands of other designs. I also started a Cafe Press store so hearing feedback from others trying to merchandise their original designs, etc. is helpful to a newbie like me!
Hi there!
I am reaching out to you today as we respect your influence in the CafePress and POD community (read your blog often) and feel that we have something remarkable which could be of interest to you and your audience.
The makers Sellit.com are proud to announce AdPAKs, the latest in our suite of solutions for online merchants. Shop owners can now instantly turn their mini-shops created with Sellit into interactive advertisements which are distributed and displayed across the web. This product was designed for shop owners seeking an easy way to increase exposure for their products and services, improve customer interaction and drive new traffic to existing online shops.
Sellit is a social media marketing platform that enables online merchants to drive significantly more traffic to their stores than by traditional marketing/advertising methods. The platform enables users to turn their storefronts into mini-shops that can be distributed across the Web, advertise their mini-shop in an innovative and more effective way, and broadcast across all social media through one interface. The platform takes minutes to set up and is now available to CafePress Shopkeepers.

Thank you for your time and feel free to reach out for any further info.

Just a quick note — if CafePress is an 800 pound gorilla, Zazzle is taking supplements and about to weigh more. If you check out the Alexa rankings, CafePress has been dropping since the July 1st D-Day, while Zazzle is rising and actually getting MORE traffic than they are now - http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/.....zazzle.com
As someone else that was hosed by CP’s choice, it’s nice to see!
I love your blog. I am writing to ask whether you have any experience with the referrals part of Zazzle? I’m thinking of getting into it myself, but if you have any advice, I would love to see a post about it.
I dig your site. I’ve been doing the POD thing for a while now. Well Cafepress for two years but we all know how that worked out. I’ve got a Zazzle and Skreened store, but they are fairly new and don’t have as much traction yet.
Your blog is great inspiration. Keep it up!
